Recently, Canvas has introduced a feature to let you customize your course by adding an image. The course image will appear on users’ course dashboards, right above the title of the course. This will allow your students to quickly identify your course when first logging in.

You may upload a file directly from your computer, or search the Flickr image repository to find the image that fits your course. The course cards even support animated GIF files!

To access this feature, Navigate to your course settings. The image option will be on the Course Details tab. Here are more details on adding course images: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-8152. No, this change will not revolutionize online learning, but it’s a fun addition to Canvas that gives instructors a chance to customize their courses a bit more.
